greevey will be our guest, georgia congresswoman tom price and florida congresswoman debbie wasserman schultz joins us. it's tuesday, november 13th, "starting point" begins right now. >>> morning, welcome, everybody. our "starting point" this morning. breaking news. another top military general has now been linked to the sex scandal that forced out cia director david petraeus. forced him to resign. general john allen, the commander of u.s. and nato forces in afghanistan is now under investigation for alleged inappropriate communications with jill kelley. now investigators are said to be looking into the 20,000 to 30,000 pages of e-mails and other documents that he sent to her. kelley, of course, is the florida woman whose original complaint to the fbi about threatening e-mails inadvertently exposed the affair between general petraeus and paula broadwell. meantime a team of fbi agents searched broadwell's home in charlotte, north carolina, overnight, and spent nearly five hours there wrapping up just after 1:00 in the morning. "wall street journal" is reporting that the fbi agent who launched the petra
're with us today. and let's get started. first up, we just can't call it the petraeus scandal anymore. today, the u.s. general in charge of allied troops in afghanistan, the top commander john allen is himself the subject of a pentagon investigation of allegedly inappropriate communications with jill kelley. yes, that jill kelley, we're talking about the same tampa housewife whom david petraeus' then mistress paula broadwell apparently saw as rival. a whole new chapter in a saga that since last friday has been one bombshell after another. and so far, all of them have something to do with kelley. she's a volunteer military liaison at the air force base, home of the u.s. central command in tampa, florida. kelley complained to the fbi last spring when paula broadwell was having an affair with petraeus allegedly harassed her with jealous e-mails. petraeus admitted the affair with broadwell but denies any elicit contact with kelley. so does general allen who was scheduled for a senate confirmation hearing this very week to become nato's supreme allied commander. today that's on hold, but he will

. jennifer griffin who joins us from the pentagon. there are so many things coming out, breaking as we speak. give us two or three most important things you have seen and you have heard today. >> the most important thing is how the investigation is expanding. we went to bed, thinking the f.b.i. investigation ended and then we hear the f.b.i. was going back to broadwell's house, paula broadwell's house, petraeus' mistress in north carolina. we don't know what that is all about. then we hear shortly after that, that general john allen, the top u.s. commander in afghanistan, who was here in washington preparing for his confirmation hearings for his next job at the supreme allied commanderrer in europe, the confirmation hearings are on hold and he is now implicated in this controversy, because of 30,000 pages of e-mails to jill kelly, who is the woman who launched this investigation. so it really keeps unraveling. it's like an onion you keep rolling back. we also need to look at the contentious custody battle that jill kelly's sister was involved in. we now understand that petraeus and allen bot
